Singing & Shaking

I love to sing these days. Especially the songs from this book. D sometimes plays guitar for me.



A few days ago, M and I went to the museum and made these shakers. More musical merriment!



Oh, and I like to say silly words, too. Using silly words just cracks me up. None have been captured on camera, yet. Maybe for the next post....

Reading & Reciting

Here is a little glimpse into my night-time routine. To get ready for bed, I take a bath, then read some stories and have a yogurt snack, put on my pajamas, brush and floss my teeth, and lastly read some more stories in bed. These two videos are from step #2 - reading stories after the bath. For the record, I am wearing an hooded-towel, my bear backpack (thanks Nana & Popi!), and am wrapped up in a blanket. And I have a yogurt mustache. Grandma was the videographer for both of these movies.

And here I am reciting "Halloween Hoot," a story about Bonnie Bird and Chester Chipmunk in my favorite magazine (text is below, so you can check for accuracy):


"It was a Halloween night. Chester was walking through the woods to his friend's house. The woods were dark and quiet. Bats flew overhead. A voice in the woods called out, "Whoooo's there?" Chester looked up and saw two eyes glowing. "Oh no, it's a ghost!" Chester cried out as he started to run. "Wait, Chester! It's just me," said Bonnie, coming down from the tree. "I'm dressed up as an owl for Halloween." Chester laughed. "You fooled me!" he said. "I'm just a real hoot tonight," said Bonnie, laughing.

Halloween!

So, how did my Halloween go? Well, it was great. It started back when Grandma was visiting. She was the photographer for my first photo-essay: How to carve a pumpkin into a face. First, D uses the big knife to cut the top off of the pumpkin.



Then M gets up to her elbows in pumpkin guts.



Next, I draw a picture of a face, so D knows where to carve.



Then (the best part) cuddling with M by the fire, while D wields the knife.



And voila!



And then I got to spend time lots of time dressed up in my bear costume and play with my friends, while they wore costumes, too! There was a skunk, a red dinosaur, a princess, Cindy Lou Who, and many more.







On Halloween night, we went and got our culture on, taking in a stage version of James & The Giant Peach. I liked seeing the boy and all the bugs ride in a big car at the end; D laughed very loudly at the earthworm's physical comedy. Afterwards, in the lobby, I got on the culture! This statue was perfect for sitting on...but watch out for that tiger!



Special bonus picture for all those who made it to the end of the post: Me in my totally awesome duck slippers! When I put them on, I ran around the house and screamed!
