Ladybugs came to my Birthday Party this year!
We've been preparing for my party all week. Icing cupcakes (Thank you Kelsey!!)
making and hanging decorations (Mom let me go crazy with the gluestick)
and packing the fridge with yummy food to share: strawberry ladybugs, blackberry soda, caprese salad with pesto and lots of watermelon.
It was a lot of build up for me. The food sounded good, but I was most excited for the fun activities I knew were coming. It was worth the wait. We used stencils to paint on t-shirts (not on little sisters!).
But what I looked forward to most was getting to hold and release REAL ladybugs. We got 3000 (for $8!) from a garden store. Me and my friends let them crawl all over us. It was great!!
Wuggie thought so too.
The only thing that got us to let the ladybugs get down to aphid-eating business was cupcakes. You guessed it: ladybug cupcakes. I blew out the candles all myself!
And had a great Birthday!
