Speaking for Myself...

...I really enjoyed Mom and Dad's anniversary. After church we took a scenic drive along the Columbia River. We stopped at several waterfalls along the way. First Wahkeenah...

...then Multnomah.

Then we headed to Hood River, a town on the Columbia known for great windsurfing. We had a delicious lunch. Then we went down to the river to watch the wind and kite-surfers. I got to "swim" putting my hands and feet in the river, watching the colorful sails, and strolling along the water. (You can see some of the surfers in the background.) It was a beautiful day!

Afterwards we found a shady spot to enjoy some ice cream.

And I did some tree climbing.

A full, fun day. Happy Anniversary, folks!

Sing Sing Sing!

I love to sing these days: The ABC's, Happy Birthday, a song about apples, and the first song I ever learned....

I also know Twinkle Twinkle (but was not willing to sing it in that video), and a couple of bars from many songs by Elizabeth Mitchell, Pete Seeger, José-Luis Orozco, and Raffi. In fact, whenever we get into the car, I immediately say, "Music, please!"

Zoom!

When I was in California recently my Nana gave me this neat little car. Last night I got to race it down a hill downtown while Mom and Dad took in some summer music.

I thought it was VERY funny.

By the time we got home it had gotten chilly (in the 50's! - gotta love Portland in July!) and my shorts and t-shirt weren't cutting it so Dad let me borrow his shirt. It fit perfectly!

Visiting Pets

I have a lot of catching up to do! Two months ago we cat sat for one of my pals. For 11 whole days I had a cat of my very own to feed, pet, brush, hug, and kiss. And of course talk about non-stop. Unless Smudge was in her bed, which I couldn't reach, I was her shadow. And she was a great sport about it. Maybe one day I'll get a sweet old cat of my very own!

Waiting for Smudge to play with me.

Want to read this book with me, Smudge?

If you can't beat 'em...

Things I Liked About California

We visited the Bay Area recently and, well, I didn't want to leave. And why not?

I got to ride in a train, a plane, a boat and a car. I'm a super traveler.

There was a pool RIGHT outside our hotel room!

We saw some beautiful wildlife at Muir Woods National Monument.

Exciting Racquetball matches, and of course, my dear, dear family.

I also really liked our "California Car"...maybe because it was shiny and red? In any case, I've been talking about California since we got back, and building airplanes and boats as fast and as much as I can. I can't wait to go back!
