Taste of Things to Come

This serendipitous early morning photo booth picture captured a sleep smile from Little Sister. Can't you see why I lavish hugs and kisses on her (even when she's sleeping) ?!

Thank You, Nora!

Here we are at the midwife's office with Nora when June was two weeks old. Nora is the midwife who helped deliver her.

She thought June was going to be 10 pounds before they weighed her! M & D are grateful for all the help along the way from Nora and her colleagues.

(In June's defense, she is yawning, not screaming, in this picture. She's a rather calm baby, which is another thing M & D are grateful for.)

New Arrivals!

I missed a lot of the excitement late Monday night/Tuesday morning, but I checked in with JuneBug and she told me the story. My new little sister arrived four days after her due date, just like I did. I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary Monday - Mom, Dad and I had a nice light dinner and then a friend from church came by to play with me. She was awesome! We played and then had a bath and got ready for bed. Meanwhile Mom and Dad spent a lot of time together walking in circles in the den and rocking in rocking chairs. The midwives also came to visit around the time I was saying night-night.

Juney made her entrance not too much later - just after midnight. We figure it took about five hours or so for her to be born. (You have to check with Mom and Dad for the details.) Here she is be examined by one of the midwives - you can tell it was late!

I woke up around 2 and Daddy came to get me and introduce me to my new little sister. Pretty neat! I went back to sleep and got to spend more time with her in the morning.

A few hours after my little sister was born D's family flew and drove in from their various far-flung hometowns. I have not wanted for fun or attention!

As for June, she got a small taste of what Christmas is like.

Mostly though she's been doing a lot of this, which is just fine with us!
