We went to Portland

As you probably know, I've lived all my life on the East Coast. Our family is planning a big move in the next few weeks to the West Coast. I've been to California before for Aunt Bethany and Uncle Jon's wedding. This past weekend we headed out to The City of Roses to do some reconnaissance work. We got to stay in a nice hotel...

...and we had Chipotle - Mom and Dad's most favorite place to eat (they're simple people). I liked the burrito wrapping paper and was particularly fond of the guacamole!

Practically, our objective translated into alot of time in the car. Dad let me drive, er, play with the steering wheel as a break.

Sometimes I just took naps while we drove around.

And there were a few fun (for me!) diaper changes in the back seat.

Mom and Dad say I was a super duper truper and that when we move we'll actually get to exit the car and walk around in all that gorgeous scenery. Excellent.

I scream, you scream

Have you heard of this ice cream stuff?!?! It looks delicious (I wouldn't know how it tastes...)! We went to get some with our friend Kendall to celebrate good friends, good real estate agents, puppy dogs, sunshine et cetera. It's so pretty!! I helped Dad pick out his.

And the folks that work there were really friendly - that way you buy more ice cream...as if anyone needed encouraging!

Afterwards everyone was on a bit of a "sugar high" whatever that is. I was just my usual smiley self.

Playing Catch

Oh the technological wonder! Your patience shall be rewarded. Let Mom and Dad know if this works.

Good News!

Mom says she's going to ask her fellow blogging friends and computer-savy associates how to post short videos on my website. Coming soon to a computer near you: Acony Bell 24 frames per second...hopefully with sound too! In the meantime, here's a close-up of my little teefs to tide you over.

Are you ready for some football?!

Ok, I'm a little confused about this "Superbowl" thing. Tell me if this is right: we get together with our buddies (Martin, Bruce, etc.) and we pretend like we're really excited about a football game...

...but then nobody actually watches the game, they just gab away. The Dads make an effort, but in the end I think they mostly came for the food!

And before you know it the game is over and everyone's tuckered out (I'm on the left in the pink stripes, Martin is in light blue stripes)...you know, I guess it was a pretty good time after all!

Mmm, mmmm good!

Dad's always saying what a good cook Mom is, so I was pretty excited when it came time to add a little variety to my diet and try her cooking myself. I'll admit, I've discovered some tastier foods since, but my first bites were not what I'd imagined they'd be. Don't take it personally Mom, but your recipe for pureed squash needs a little work!

Dad put me in a bag.

I'm always so happy to see Dad when he comes home in the evening. While Mom makes dinner, Dad and I horse around. Sometimes he lets me ride on his shoulders (don't worry I hold on tight...to his hair!!!).

One time he thought I'd like playing in a TJ's grocery bags. I think he wanted me to practice for future father-daughter potato sack races!

Dad explains to me that I'm named after a flower. He provides visuals so I get the picture!

Finally, dinner time! But don't expect me to chow down. I prefer just to play with my plastic silverware.

Computers are Amazing!

Mom says our new computer can take pictures of me. I told her 'no way, Mom, I may only be 6 months old, but I know what a camera looks like!' She tried to explain how it worked, but I was skeptical.

I took a closer look...nope, not a camera.

Oh wait, who is that cute baby?!
