Hap-Hap-Happy!
Well folks, I made it through my first year pretty much unscathed! Can you believe I was once such a wee thing!

And now look at me!
To celebrate my birth, our family had the traditional Birthday meal: frozen raspberries, Italian wedding soup, toast, V8, and chocolate chip cookies (apparently this is what Mom and Dad ate on the actual day of my birth...)
After dinner we went to a nice outdoor music concert with some friends and I got to have a birthday cupcake: zucchini bread that is. I even shared with my pal.
Mom wanted to take this picture with the musical entertainment because she thought it was funny that we listened to a man play bagpipes for my birthday. He was actually quite good and very nice to pose with us.
Other events from the day included story-time at the library where my other book-loving friends sang me Happy Birthday, lunch in the park with said book-loving friends, and some swinging – my favorite!!
M & D also had a little Birthday celebration for me. It was fun to hang out with new friends and was surprisingly sociable around some new faces. (sorry about the sideways-ness)
Afterward we went to see Dr. Ralph Stanley, one of the Fathers of Bluegrass, or so they tell me. I liked dancing to the music! It was a great ending to several fun days of Birthday Celebrating.

My How I've Grown!
I've done a lot of growing haven't I? I used to sit in this chair while M & D did chores or took showers or whatever. Now I ask Mom to turn on the "calming vibrations", climb in, and ask to read a book. Sometimes I use it to try to get into the desk drawers (that's where they keep the good toys I'm sure of it!).
Or remember when M & D were so concerned about feeding me? Am I getting enough milk, will I like peas and carrots, ect.? Well here I am feeding Dad! See, I'm not just take, take, take! (Yes, we were at Chipotle again)
I like to look at pictures of my family. Mom quizzes me on who everyone is. I still seem to guess randomly, but I do it enthusiastically.
And I've become quite a little lady...sorta...at least I look the part. I still get tempted by the climbing wall at the playground dress or no!

Cause for Celebration!
Believe it or not, Mom and Dad have been married for five years! And five years ago they came out to Oregon for their honeymoon. This past weekend they returned to the same spot to celebrate. I was, of course, along so it wasn’t quite the same, but I think a good time was had by all. Here are some highlights:
We got a flat tire on the way down and had to make an unplanned stop in Springfield to get new tires (happy anniversary!), thus dinner at the mall.
Once we finally made it, I was thrilled to be able to crawl around our big room. I did laps for a half-hour!
Dad and I enjoying the scenery.
Mom at Crater Lake.
Me at Crater Lake.
On a hike in Crater Lake National Park.
Happy Anniversary folks!
